Train Your Brain to Heal Itself

Evidence-Based Therapy Rooted in Neuroplasticity

CBT, DBT, and ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy)  therapies designed to work with your brain’s natural ability to heal and adapt.

At Minisink Psychology we use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to help individuals reshape how they think, feel, and respond. These aren’t trendy treatments. They’re trusted, proven methods that work with your brain’s natural ability to rewire itself—through a process called neuroplasticity.

What Is Neuroplasticity?

Neuroplasticity is your brain’s ability to form new connections, break old patterns, and adapt over time. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, or emotion dysregulation, neuroplasticity is the engine behind lasting change.

CBT and DBT don’t just help you cope—they train your brain to respond differently, which can gradually lower your emotional baseline and open up healthier ways of thinking, reacting, and living.

Evidence-Based Therapy, Rooted in Neuroplasticity

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)—both built to work with your brain’s ability to change itself over time. No numbing, no shortcuts—just steady, supported growth.

CBT

Spot distorted thinking

Build practical tools

Shift patterns that cause anxiety, depression, or burnout

DBT

Regulate emotions in the moment

Improve relationships

Stay grounded under stress

Together, CBT and DBT create a framework for lasting change—through repetition, coaching, and daily skill-building that changes your brain’s default responses.

How Does This Relate and work together with to Psychedelic and Ketamine Therapies?

Newer methods like ketamine infusions MDMA, and psilocybin-assisted therapy are showing promise for many individuals.  These types of therapies are effective when the client also participates in ART, CBT and/or DBT in order to learn and implement the tools to maintain and build upon the changes.

CBT, DBT, and ART work gradually, allowing change to happen through real-life experience and collaborative (and hard) work with your therapist. You remain fully present and empowered throughout the therapeutic process, which helps you build the skills needed for lasting emotion, thought, and behavior regulation. The changes that come from this kind of work can be vast and definitely empowering; and work best when deeply internalized by the client. CBT, DBT, and ART have been shown to be a steady, proven path toward true rewiring with dedicated clients and therapists at the helm.
